Welcome To The Sports Dietitians UK Website

Sports Dietitians UK (SDUK) is a specialist group of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) for HPC Registered Dietitians specialising in the field of sports nutrition.

Sports Dietitians UK has one of the largest members of Sports Dietitians in the World.

Registered Sport and Exercise Nutritionists and Sports Dietitians advise athletes, coaches and their teams on the ideal way to eat and drink to get the best performance. Their advice is based on the needs of each individual athlete. Athletes are given an informed choice on use of various supplements as enjoyable foods and meals can often provide similar nutrients to supplements. Dietitians and Registered Sports and Exercise Nutritionists do not sell nutritional supplements and do not have a commercial interest in promoting them. In contrast, Nutritional Therapists, who have different qualifications, sometimes promote their own range of of supplements. In addition Which? Magazine recently launched a report outlining what they say are dangerous practice by some Nutritional Therapists working in the UK today.

Athletes and coaches who wish to use a Registered Sport and Exercise Nutritionist can check the Sports and Exercise Nutrition register (SENr). The SENr has a strict Professional Code of Conduct and Quality Assurance mechanism to ensure public protection.
